On completion of the course, students will gain an understanding of MAPPA and its purpose. You will learn about the benefits and purpose of MAPPA and the categories that are managed. We will cover the three levels of MAPPA and learn about who are MAPPA eligible offenders including the process of assessing risk.
We will cover what a risk management plan is and how being under MAPPA affects the offender as well as how long an individual remains under MAPPA. You will also learn about disclosure to the public, custody, recall and the transfer of MAPPA cases.
You will learn about the different agencies involved in MAPPA and how it is managed. We will cover VISOR in MAPPA and who is protected by MAPPA and from what. You will also learn about the sharing of information and the statistics of MAPPA eligible offenders.
We will explore the latest MAPPA guidelines as well as learning when and how to make a referral. You will learn about legislation for MAPPA and how MAPPA affects reoffending.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.
