All about this Fire Safety in Offices Course
This course is suitable for anyone working in offices who requires fire safety information and training. It is appropriate for new workers who need fire safety training for their induction and can also be used as refresher training for existing employees.
You will explore what fire safety is and also will look at the fire safety laws for office-based working environments and the enforcement action and penalties for non-compliance, you will also explore some examples of fire incidents in offices.
You will explore the fire triangle, heat, fuel and oxygen sources and causes of office fires. You will also look at examples of how to prevent and minimise the risk of fires in offices.
You will look at fire risk assessments and how to complete one, as well as exploring examples of protective measures to mitigate the risks to people and office premises if a fire occurs.
You will finish the course by exploring Fire Emergency Evacuation Plans (FEEPs) and the actions to take in the event of a fire and you will learn about the importance of fire drills.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3Â hours to complete and the certificate will last for three years.

- Unit 1 – Introduction to Fire Safety in Offices – In the first unit of the fire safety in offices course you will have an introduction to fire safety and learn why it is important.
- Unit 2 – Fire Hazards and Prevention – This unit will explore the potential fire hazards that can arise in an office-based environment, you will also look at some examples to prevent and minimise the risk of fires in offices.
- Unit 3 – Fire Risk Assessments and Protective Measures – This unit will explore fire risk assessments and protective measures, you will explore the five steps involved in a risk assessment.
- Unit 4 – Emergency Procedures – In the final unit of the fire safety in offices course, you will have an introduction to emergency procedures and responsibilities, you will also look at actions to take in the event of a fire.
