You will learn about the complexities surrounding consent when a patient or service user lacks capacity. You will also consider the role of advocates in ensuring the rights of individuals that are unable to provide consent themselves.
We will cover law and consent, particularly the role of legal interventions and considerations surrounding consent for children and young people. we will also explore factors such as parental authority and the concept of Gillick competence.
You will learn about the critical aspects of managing the consent process in healthcare. We will look further into the roles and responsibility of each part involved, and also discuss the importance of record-keeping and documentation.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
