Customer profile: Southern education recruitment

Southern Education Recruitment was established this year in April 2020. After being made redundant due to Covid, having recently started a new job, I decided to set up my own recruitment agency.

I provide staff to schools, from Teachers through to Teaching Assistants as well as more specialised roles like Speech & Language Therapy, supporting mainstream and SEN Schools. Positions range from temporary through to permanent contracts.

I am based in Maidstone but I cover schools across all of Kent, East Sussex and the South East.

It has been exceptional. Eve has been amazing, walking me through the process from costs of courses to tailoring programmes specific to my industry sector.

Very user friendly. The candidate feedback has been very positive, from the layout and source material of the course itself, along with the ability to be able to complete in stages, saving their progress to return and complete. The most positive feedback is that candidates not only get their results straight away but can then download their certificate of completion. One of the biggest complaints I have heard from candidates in the past is completing courses but never receiving the certificate from the company providing the training.

Very. The whole process is very simple and quick to use. Just enter the candidates name and email address under the course they need to complete and send. It really is as easy as that.

As it is the Education sector I work in it is essential that all candidates complete up to date Safeguarding Level 2; in addition to this and with the current pandemic in mind CPD Online College have worked to provide a range of Covid Awareness courses, so I also ask candidates to complete the Covid Awareness in Schools.

Absolutely and I already have to colleagues in the same industry as myself. I think with the peace of mind of such an established organisation and universally recognized symbol such as CPD, you know you are getting quality courses.

As a new Education Agency, I started registering candidates in September – so approximately 20 at the moment.

Definitely! When you are running a business the easier it is to work with other providers the better as it takes the additional pressure off of having to source candidate courses. Everything is one place, I place a bulk order of courses, it is then invoiced and added to your profile within a matter of moments. Having a dedicated consultant like Eve looking after you makes the process even easier. Although a provider of online training it is so nice to be able to speak with a dedicated consultant, knowing that there is a person at the end of the phone if you do have any problems.
